Campground Hosts:
Campground hosts reside in the campgrounds for periods of three to six months and support the operation of the park. In addition to greeting campers and assisting them in finding their sites, hosts are the rangers’ eyes and ears. They inform visitors of rules and regulations and at times enforce these rules and regulations. Hosts also perform scheduling and training for custodial tasks in restroom and shower facilities. Hosts are provided a free campsite with water and electric hookups for their own RV.

Campground Maintenance:
Campground maintenance personnel reside in the campgrounds for periods of three to six months. This position supports the park by performing routine custodial tasks in restroom and shower facilities two to three days a week. This position requires a very flexible schedule on these days. Campground maintenance personnel are provided a free campsite with water and electric hookups for their own RV.

Maintenance Volunteer Bill Hupp helps rangers keep up with weed control. Volunteers help with a variety of crucial tasks at this beautiful park north of Tuscon.

The next three positions do not reside in the park. They are typically full or part time residents of the community.

Visitor Services Volunteers:
Visitor services volunteers work in the visitor center/ranger station a minimum of 4 hours a week, sometimes shoulder-to-shoulder with the ranger staff. They collect fees and issue park permits, provide information about the park and local vicinity, and transact gift shop sales.

Gift Shop Volunteers:
Gift shop volunteers work in the Trail Head gift shop a minimum of 4 hours a week, providing information about the park trails and transact gift shop sales. (This position is seasonal and may only be available on weekends depending on time of year and necessity.)

Maintenance Volunteers:
Maintenance services volunteers support the park by performing a variety of upkeep and development tasks. This might include building maintenance, pruning, mowing, painting, trail maintenance and much more. Especially helpful, but not necessary, are experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding and landscape maintenance.
